Characteristics
Plants
attached firmly to rocks by discoid hodfast; stem cartilaginous, firm,
horny, 0.5 mm thick, giving out branches with dichotomous fronds.
Frond flat, memranous many times dischotomously forked, fastigiate;
segments linear, up to 3 cm long, 2 mm broad; margins entire, without
proliferations. The colour of the plant is deep red.
